Case Study: CUPA-HR
College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) provides leadership to the higher education human resources profession and the higher education community by delivering knowledge, resources and connections. They provide vital resources to more than 11,000 higher education HR professionals at more than 1,700 institutions.
CUPA-HR started working with Peerfocus in 2003 after being introduced to them on a joint project with BearingPoint Higher Education Benchmarking Consortium. Chip Sizemore, Director of Research & Information Systems, had never used a web-based market research service before but was impressed by how much it streamlined the process. CUPA-HR used to do three salary surveys and one benefits survey per year along with 600 custom reports. The salary survey alone was sent to over 3,500 institutions each time and data was sent back to CUPA-HR in paper form along with computer discs sent through the mail. All the data was sent out to be keyed, and then sent back to CUPA to be analyzed. After all that, the reports still needed to be designed, printed and mailed.
CUPA-HR now does 4 salary surveys per year, a health care survey, and a new survey focused on human resources metrics. With Peerfocus they've added Data-on-Demand. This past year they sold 1,600 Data-on-Demand access accounts which allow CUPA-HR clients to easily run their own analysis and reports. CUPA-HR says that their clients love the Data-on-Demand service. They can't believe how convenient and fast the service is and they especially appreciate the fact that when their boss or a client asks them for data, they can provide it immediately.
